The First Annual ‘Throwdown for Charity: Oktoberfest’ held at Stumpy’s Hatchet House

RUMSON — Local supporters of STEAMpark, INC, the Monmouth County-based nonprofit that provides educational, emotional, and wellness support to children in underserved communities, gathered at Stumpy’s Hatchet House in Eatontown on Oct. 23 for the first annual Throwdown For Charity: Oktoberfest.
More than 70 guests honed their hatchet-hurling skills and enjoyed delicious food and beer donated by favorite local establishments including Asbury Park Brewery, Local Smoke BBQ (Red Bank); Tommy’s Tavern and Tap (Sea Bright); Sickles, Angelos and Giannis (all in Little Silver), Kitchen Witch (Monmouth Beach), and Val’s Tavern (Rumson). The generous Event Sponsor was Comport Consulting Corporation (Rahway) and Pit Sponsors were Kelly Zaccaro of Sotheby’s Realty; Targeted Talent; Two River Title Company; Cullen Disque Family Foundation; Soul Focus and LG Insurance. All proceeds will support the academically stimulating after-school and summer camp programs that incorporate key principles of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) run by STEAMpark, INC, a 501(c)(3).
